Corporal David Hathcock succumbed to injuries he sustained in a vehicle crash on November 9, 2025, near Taylor and Vaugnn Roads in Montgomery.
Corporal Hathcock had served with the Montgomery Police Department for 20 years. Survivors include his wife and two daughters.

Montgomery Police Chief James N. Graboys also reflected on the legacy Corporal Hathcock leaves behind. He noted that Hathcock’s influence extended far beyond his daily duties, shaping the department’s culture and impacting the careers of countless officers who had the privilege of learning from him.
“Corporal Hathcock wore the badge with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to duty,” Graboys said. “Throughout his career, he left an incredible legacy within this department, from the generations of officers he trained and mentored to the countless citizens he protected and served. The impact of his sacrifice for this city will continue to be felt for years to come.”
