Town Marshal Brad Fisher was killed assisting in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle on U.S. 36 near Lynn at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Early Wednesday morning, Town Marshal Fisher was responding to a report of a known stolen vehicle that had fled from a Randolph County sheriff’s deputy during a high-risk traffic stop. While deploying a tire deflation system, the stolen vehicle struck Town Marshal Fisher and then crashed into a dump truck.

Town Marshal Fisher was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the stolen vehicle was apprehended.

Town Marshal Fisher had served the Lynn community for 25 years, first as a firefighter and EMT, and then as Town Marshal and Street Superintendent. Survivors include his wife and two children.
