Correctional Officer V Jose Ruiz died as a result of contracting COVID-19 while serving at the Hutchins State Jail at 1500 East Langdon Road in Dallas.
Officer Ruiz had served with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Correctional Institutions Division for 18 years. He is survived by his mother.
